Kinesio Tape facilitates lymphatic drainage by lifting the skin microscopically, just enough to decrease inflammation and relieve pain, without inhibiting range of motion, in order to prolong the benefits of physical therapy.
What is Kinesio Tape?
Kinesio Tape is an elastic, adhesive tape developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1979. It is safe, latex-free, hypoallergenic, and can be worn for extended periods of time.
Kinesio tape works to alleviate inflammation and pain, increase circulation, and optimize athletic performance. If he or she determined this method would be beneficial for you, your chiropractor would apply Kinesio tape to the affected area in single “I” strips, or in various modifications of an “X” or “Y”, or any of hundreds of other shapes.
After your adjustment, you’ll notice an increased range of motion and function, as well reduced nerve irritability, enabling you to live a more active, healthy, fulfilling lifestyle.
